Adolphus Gouhenant's inventory was divided into two sections. Some comments written by Gouhenant dated August 10, 1855, followed the inventory tally. This graphic was scanned from a copy of the inventory which Jack C. Grantham, Jr. provided. Jack made the notation "Bear Cr." in the left hand margin. There appears to be a reference to Bear Cr. in Gouhenant's comments, but I have not determined what the remainder of the sentence says. The sentences below that line are reasonably clear:
"... mon jardin 2 lots pres la brick yard ou [celiu?] vendre four 200 dollars a la fin Janvier 1856. [Tai't fini...?] le marché pour ma maison"The inventory contents were examined and confirmed by another person. His signature at the end of the document appears to be "J. K. Baer."roughly translated: " my garden 2 lots near the brick yard or [the one] to sell for 200 dollars at the end of January 1856. ... [finished?] the market for my house"
