My CLAW page!

Shibui, Marquesa of CLAW

Note: On October 27, 2003, Shibui joined many friends and family members who preceded her to Rainbow Bridge. Shibui's CLAW pages are preserved in her honor and maintained by her family. Awards that she received posthumously have been added to this page. Sadly, CLAW closed its doors in the Fall of 2005. We have made every effort to disable invalid links, but purr that you'll let us know if you find one.

Thank you,
The Crowley Cats

On November 4, 2000, Queen Midnight reopened CLAW! Our new mission is to serve others. If you are not a member, please visit CLAW and learn how you can participate

Proud CLAW Member

My title! clearCLAW provides a variety of educational resources and recreational activities for members. We have an opportunity to attend CLAW University and to explore our interests by joining a variety of Guilds. Several Independent Guilds have an association with CLAW which allows their members to earn CLAW Service Points.

clear Meowing-In CertificateAccumulated points determine the titles that CLAW members receive. I was presented the title of Marquesa during the Award Ceremony in April, 2001.

On June 15, 2001, I participated in a very special ceremony which unites CLAW members in purrful harmony. After the ceremony, Queen Midnight presented each participant a beautiful Meowing-In Certificate.

I am currently a member of CLAW Thespian Society, Friends of the CLAW Theater, Older Cats Society, and the Historical/Victorian Cats Society. I was also an active member of the Eloquent Cat's Journal Society, which is now closed.

I completed my Honorable Degree at CLAW Seminary and during the April 2002 graduation ceremonies, I was inducted into Phi Beta Katta, an Honor Society for graduates of Plato's College of Ethics. As Princess Sunny called each recipient's name, we stepped forward, selected a candle, and lit it at the Flame of Knowledge. Before we picked up our Phi Beta Katta keys, we recited this pledge: "I pledge to be a kitty of honor throughout all of my nine lives."

This spring, I resumed my studies and enrolled in the College of Graphic Arts. You may click here, to see my completed assignments. With the help and encouragement of all my teachers, I earned another degree!

On November 4th, 2003, new CLAW celebrates it's third anniversary! Each year, the CLAW Social Committee sends beautiful anniversary cards to members. I am proud to display them here:

3rd CLAW Anniversary - 11/4/2003

Many CLAW Guilds participated in the CLAW County Fair. This was a very exciting event with games, rides, craft booths, puzzles, and more. Tucker B. Smith and I took a balloon ride on our way to the Older Cats Society Flower Show.

Many CLAW Guilds participated in the Sizzling Summer Flea Market last year. Members prepared food, games, as well as displays of art, crafts, books, toys and more. This was a very entertaining event with something for kitties of all ages. This is one of the prizes I won:

I am a CLAW Thespian!

Sixty CLAW Thespians are performing in an outstanding production of Robin Hood. Once again, Skuzzy and Leo have joined forces to create costumes and scenery that will dazzle your eyes and delight your senses. I am honored to play a Lady-in-Waiting in this romantic, adventurous tale.

The CLAW Thespians' brilliant production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is held over in CLAW Theater. Skuzzy and Leo combined their talents to create lavish sets and costumes. I'm proud as a peacock to have a small, but challenging role in this play.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Shibui's final performance was in Aladdin and the Magic Lamp.

Members of the Eloquent Cat's Journal Society are encouraged to record their thoughts and activities in a diary. My journal is patterned after those kept in Victorian times. It is a place to store photos and momentoes, as well as my memories.

My journal is an open book
for all the world to see.
If you would like to take a look
you do not need a key.

Please click here to read my journal. We also mew about our activities in the Journal Society Dreambook. The Journal Society is moving to a new location, so the doors are temporarily closed.

Historical/Victorian Cats Society Membership CardOne of my favorite pastimes is learning more about the Victorian era. As a member of the Historical & Victorian Cats Society, I have had an opportunity to meet many other kitties who share this interest. Sir Wally has created a wonderful refuge where we can relax and enjoy the beauty of a bygone era. Our friends are always welcome to visit our Bed & Breakfast and share a cup of catnip tea with us. Please visit my Victorian Retreat and leave your calling card on my silver tray.

PSP Guild

I joined the Introduction to Paint Shop Pro Guild in June 2000. PSP Guild members were encouraged to complete the basic lessons, before tackling more complex challenges. Advanced members and other artists also provided tutorials on a variety of subjects. We were encouraged to work at our own pace and to have fun learning how to use PSP tools. PSP Guild members also prepared booths for the CLAW Flea Market. If you would like to see mine, please click here.

After the guild closed in May 2001, our teachers, Nikki and Nichie, became Deans of CLAW University's College of Graphic Arts. The college offered Graphic Artist Degrees in Paint Shop Pro and Photoimpact. The instructors offered excellent instruction on the art of designing graphics for web pages. In November 2002, I enrolled in the PSP division and completed my degree in April 2003. What fun it was to be back in school! When Nikki and Nichie retired, the College of Graphic Arts closed. Some of the former teachers and students are now active participants in the CLAW PSP Artist Guild.

I enjoy chatting with my friends in our egroup, CLAW Furriends, and in the monthly CLAW New Members Chat. This chat is open to all members of CLAW. I also have fun playing games and entering contests. Kitty the Great and I were both awarded 1st prize for our entries in Caption Contest #32.

I look forward to reading every issue of the CLAW Zine!
