When I volunteered to participate in the Purr Scout's Adopt-a-GrandKitty program in 1998, I was first adopted by two very sweet brothers,
Simon and Pepper Poisson. I've enjoyed getting aquainted with them and I take pride in their achievements. In this picture of my Grandkitties, Pepper is the "top cat." He claims that he always wins the wrestling matches. Simon, however told me, "I am faster and very agile so even when Pepper has me trapped like in this picture, I am able to get away."
Over the years, Simon and Pepper have made many contributions to CLAW. They have each earned several degrees and numerous special awards. They are active in other clubs and participate in many extra curriculor activities. They are members of a popular band, The Boyz, led by their brother Max. One of the happiest moments of my life was when they played at our reception, when Tucker and I were wedwinked on Valentine's Day 2001. After winning the Cat's Corner Halloween Gallery competition, Pepper was interviewed by Duchess P. M. Le' Purr and featured in her Gallery Gazette! |
I treasure this certificate that the Purr Scouts made with their own little paws:

In April 1999, another Purr Scout, Brother Oswin adopted me as his Grandmewmie. Like my other Grandkits, he also enjoys wrestling. He has two brothers, Brother Jerome and Brother Petrus. If you visit The Brothers' Page, you can see their photographs and learn how they got their names. They were all members of the original CLAW and I'm proud of my Grandkit and his brothers for being such active participants. Brother Otis was a member of the Environmental Guild and he submitted the winning entry in their Earth Day 1999 Banner contest.

Brother Oswin sent me these photographs, which show how he grew from a cute little kitten into a handsome cat. His baby picture was taken when he was ten weeks old and the other one was made on his first birthday, January 31, 1999.
I'm proud to display another certificate that the Purr Scouts made for me:

Now I have another GrandKitty to brag about: Toby Manchester! Toby and his sister, Mitzi, live in Iowa. That's a long way from Texas, but I enjoy visiting their Purrffect Place. When Toby joined Purr Scouts in Spring of 2000, he volunteered to be on the Birthday committee. Toby also served on the PS 2nd Anniversary Celebration planning committee and he made this page of Purr Scout Greetings for it. Toby is a very enthusiastic kitty and I'm proud to be his Grandmewmie. |
Patches Jezabelle, Director of the Purr Scouts, made this special award for OCS members who participated in the Adopt-a-GrandKitty program.
The Purr Scouts honored all the GrandKitties with an Appreciation Day on the 1st of June, 1999. It was so thoughtful of the Purr Scouts and their leaders to plan this lovely celebration. They presented each GrandKitty with gifts of flowers as tokens of their appreciation. You'll never meet a sweeter group of kitties than the Purr Scouts!

In the fall of 1999, the Older Cats Society surprised the Purr Scouts and their families with a Country Picnic. What a wonderful time we had!
Brother Oswin, Simon, and Pepper received their BCC degrees at the same time I did! I'm proud to say that we all graduated with honors!!! Do you want to see our graduation pictures?
