My Flag!

I was born in 1986 and I've lived with my family since I was a tiny kitten. Meowmie and Paw Paw George found me when they were buying pipe from Mr. Dobbs in a city near the Triple C Ranch.

They took me home with them and introduced me to Ditcher, the big orange cat who reigned supreme. He wasn't excited to have a little sister, but he soon learned to love and protect me. Often, Ditcher and I went to the country with our humans, but sometimes we stayed at home with their youngest daughter. When everyone was at work, Ditcher and I had the run of the house.

Ditcher & Dobbin - Best of Friends
When Meowmie and Paw retired, we made a purrmanent move to the country. Before long, several other cats and a dog joined our family. Through the years, many things have changed. Between 1991-2001, four of my brothers (Ditcher, Midnight, Rascal, and Scrappy) went to Rainbow Bridge. Our dog, Sandy, joined them there in July, 2003. Our sister, Shibui, made her final journey on October 27, 2003. In January, we rescued a little Tortie, so there are now five cats living on the Triple C Ranch: Bogey, Frenchie, Clancy, Brindle and me. Brindle must stay inside, unless she is supurrvised; but the rest of us spend a lot of time outdoors, except in the winter or on rainy days. We come inside on hot summer afternoons, too. This is a photo of me in the front bedroom.

In good weather, we enjoy lounging on our deck. It's furry pleasant, especially when there is a gentle breeze. I share my sleeping quarters on the enclosed back porch with Clancy. It's a furry comfurtable room, located on the north side of our house. It has a stairway with a two landings, several large windows, and a skylight. We enjoy watching the birds in our backyard and can easily keep an eye on what's happening in the backyard and garden. Sometimes at night we see armadillos, opossums, racoons, and deer. Bogey and Frenchie sleep on the sun porch, which has good views of the east and south pastures. Brindle's bed is in the living room, but she prefurs to sleep in our parents' bedroom.

I never had kittens of my own, but I helped to raise my little brothers, Midnight and Scrappy. Now, I am teaching Brindle the ropes. When I made a decision to adopt, I went to the Mousepad Orphanage.

It's a Girl!

Meowsie I'm furry proud of my little girl mouse, Meowsie. As you can see, her favorite activity is jumping rope. I make sure that she has efurrything she needs to make her happy. She told me that her favorite dessert is Cheddar Cheesecake. I found some good recipes and decorating ideas in Mouse & Garden Magazine. She will spend most of her time playing outside, but she has a bedroom of her own. If you have any suggestions on other ways to make a mouse happy, please let me know.

My main responsibilities on the Triple C Ranch are helping in the garden and dusting the furniture. My hobby is birdwatching. The smallest bird I've ever seen is a black chinned hummingbird. The great horned owl is the largest bird that visits our yard. Sometimes he flies directly over our deck and lights on top of a tall post in our yard. He doesn't make a sound when he flies!

My siblings and I participated in a forum called Roaming with Scrappy. My little brother was the original host. Scrappy's friends voted to continue the forum in his memory. Fur over four years, it was one of the most succesful StarText forums. The Star-Telegram closed their forums in February, 2001, after they went out of the ISP business.

Scrappy's friends celebrated holidays by having virtual picnics, parades, and other events. Our friend Cleo made flags fur us to carry in our parades. She told us we can keep them and I'm furry proud of mine. Cleo, who is now at Rainbow Bridge, was an exceptionally talented cat. She framed this portrait of my furry special friend, Sunny D. Isn't he handsome?

When the Back Fence Cat Club had a "Bad Meowmie Contest," I nominated ours. Of course, the contest was all in fun, because all the BFCC cats have good meowmies.

It was fun to participate in the contest. If you want to read my story, just click on my certificate:

As memfurs of BFCC, my siblings and I joined different divisions of CAD (Cat's Against D*gs). I am proud to be a memfur of Freya's Furce.

Shibui was furry active in Older Cats Society. After she went to the Bridge, I joined OCS and promised to honor her commitments, including maintaining the OCS Candle Pages. I also enjoy purrticipating in OCS activities! This memfurship card was made by one of our memfurs, Charlie Cat.

Please excuse me . . . it's time fur my cat nap . . . I mean my meditations. Would you like to join me? If not, please have a cup of catnip tea and make yourself comfurtable. Would you like to look at some of the other pages in Scrappy's Photo Album?

Mailbox Please don't disturb the birds when you drop a note in my mailbox.

Dobbin made a peaceful journey to Rainbow Bridge on June 4, 2005. Please visit her memorial page by clicking here.
