Welcome to
My Victorian Retreat

HVCS personalized Christmas card

Step back in time with me to the 19th century, an era of elegance. In many ways, life was simpler then, even though there were no "modern conveniences." Cats played an important role in Victorian society, just as they do today.

Historical/Victorian Cats Society

Sir Wally organized the Victorian Cats Society in the fall of 1999. Because of my interest in this period of history, I was delighted to have an opportunity to join. In April, 2002, the Victorian Cats Society merged with the Historical Cats Society.

Since then, we have explored new territories and learned many historical facts. To celebrate Thanksgiving, members wrote a story called The Feline Voyage of the Mayflower. We often have fun while we learn, by answering trivia questions, playing games and solving puzzles. We are rewarded for our participation with points and original certificates created by Sir Wally and his co-leader, Servo.

The Historical/Victorian Cats Society was a featured CLAW site during the month of November, 2002!

HVCS Award

As we expand our interests, we will still retain our enthusiasm for the Victorian era. New activities are combined, but members may also participate in earlier Victorian Cats Society activities. Please click here to see my display of VCS memorabilia.

As a member of the CLAW Journal Society, I am keeping a record of my thoughts and experiences in a Victorian Journal. If you would like to read it, it's an open book.

My Victorian Journal

If you have a calling card, please leave it on my silver tray.
